Mike Baughman, CBCC-KA- Behavior Consultant/Trainer and Co-Owner

Mike is a Certified Behavior Consultant through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. Mike has vast experience training everything from basic obedience to severe fear, aggression and anxiety cases for over 6 years. He got his start training under his mentor and teaching obedience classes ranging from basic to advanced. Mike became fascinated with how dogs learn and what causes behavior. This is when he got into behavior modification and started taking on more challenging cases. Since then Mike’s passion is to empower dogs to reduce fear, anxiety, frustration and aggression which he does through in-home private training and instructing group courses.

 

Mike also has a strong drive to educate dog owners and dog industry professionals about dog behavior and body language. He presents Beyond the Bark’s public and private lectures and is happy to take on any public education project. Mike oversees the continued training and continuing education of all of our staff. He is also committed to his own education and stays up to date on the most current science through continuing education.

Chelsea Baughman-Campbell, CBCC-KA, CPDT-KA, BS- Behavior Consultant/Trainer and Co-Owner

Chelsea has had a lifelong dream of working with dogs; she pursued those dreams by working with various shelters and rescue groups in the Metro Detroit area for nearly a decade.  She has a Bachelors of Science from Oregon State University and is a Certified Behavior Consultant and Professional Dog Trainer through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. Chelsea is passionate about helping dogs live the best lives possible by empowering both them and their caregivers through private in-home training.

 

Chelsea spearheads our projects consulting with other dog industry professionals and co-writes all of our lectures. She developed and implemented the operations manual including daily schedule, enrichment protocols, evaluation protocols and staff training program for 4 Seasons Pet Resort prior to the launch of the facility and oversaw the facility as the General Manager for the first year of operation. She has also previously developed and implemented a training program for Last Day Dog Rescue and served on their board for 3 years. Chelsea is also committed to personal education and stays up to date on the most current science through continuing education.

Ashley Benson, KPA-CTP- Trainer

Ashley, an enthusiastic animal lover, has over 9 years of professional experience working with dogs. She started off her career in the animal world as a dog groomer, and made the switch over to training when she found a passion for it working with her own dog, Duke. She helped Duke through lots of fears as a young adolescent pup and they have had fun competing in disc, agility and have even done some trick and freestyle performances. She is a graduate of Karen Pryor Academy, and is a AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator. Ashley is continuously committed to ongoing education through reading and attending seminars and workshops. 

Colleen Sparks, KPA-CTP- Trainer and Home Pet Care Provider 

Colleen is an avid dog lover and training enthusiast. Throughout her entire life, she has dreamt of working with animals which was the driving force behind starting a career in dog training. Colleen is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer through the Karen Pryor Academy. Colleen has attended, shadowed and assisted in obedience, agility, puppy, and reactive classes as well as private in-home training. She assists at all of our group training courses and private in-facility training. She is also committed to continued learning through shadowing Mike and Chelsea and attending workshops and lectures.

 

Colleen has experience providing care for dogs with fear and anxiety and is committed to making sure your pet is feeling safe and having fun.

Seana Florida- Home Pet Care Provider

Seana has over nine years of pet care experience and shows continuous dedication to expanding her understanding of animal behavior. She is a certified Puppy Start Right Instructor through Karen Pryor Academy and has Trick Dog and Canine Conditioning certifications through Do More With Your Dog. She also assisted with classes, in-home sessions, and only uses fear free and positive reinforcement methods to train. 

 

Seana has experience caring for anxious and fearful dogs and she is passionate about providing an experience that helps them feel safe and enriched.
